I’ve been to Arizona last week, here’s two photos in case anyone is interested. First one was taken during my (business) visit of the Fender headquarter in Scottsdale, second is me posing at the Grand Canyon.

Never thought I’m on YouTube, but searching for FeldFunker there brought two cute results: a pseudo-video made for my track Discoshit which I made several years ago (and which was copied by some other artists who made a club hit out of it, but let’s not further discuss this), and a live video of me DJing at the Spin Club in Emden. The second, by the way, was a really nice date, I played there with my good friend Ma-Cell on invitation of local DJ The Ascent (who won the Carl Cox remix contest) and we had a lot of fun there.

Just a quick sign of life to falsify assumptions I am dead.

I’m still working on the coming album, which is planned to be called “The Absurd Hero”. I have six tracks almost finished that just need some re-structuring and mastering polish, and plan to add four more, so I assume I could be done in April or something. The whole album is gonna be a very loose interpretation of Camus’ “Myth of Sisyphos” thematically, and will fluctuate between minimal techno, dubstep and ambient, music-wise.

As for this sit, I added direct download links to the music page where appropriate as some people seemed to have problems finding the zips. Just click the tiny arrow on the right hand side of a release to download a zip with the mp3s.

Just to brag around: I’m gonna see Jan Gabarek live in the Laeiszhalle here in Hamburg tomorrow. Gabarek is definitely one of my favourite contemporary jazz artists and though I own almost all of his albums, I never saw him live. Yippiiee!

Thierry Massard posted my answers on a “questionnaire of Marcel Proust”, created by Antoinette Faure around 1890, in his Questionnaire blog yesterday. Others that answered it are Gudrun Gut, Kenji Siratori or Alex Cortex, to name a few, so I’m in good company there.

Here’s my short report from Hamburg’s Vintage Guitar Show 2007 which I visited this weekend. Well… uhm… there was guitars, old ones. But frankly, it was not what I expected. There were only very few really impressive exhibits, mostly from the legendary Star Club and The Beatles. I expected to see Zappa’s first guitar or something, or to have a chance to see luthiers doing what they do, but it was more or less a flea market with very expensive goods, plus some guys selling accessories (at good prices, granted).

Maybe I’m not enthusiastic enough but watching guitar nerds try out 5000 euro guitars (I didn’t dare to touch anything I can’t afford *g*) just wasn’t satisfying for that 12 bucks entry fee. I bought myself a set of Fender strings, a handful of picks, and a high end instrument cable (which really makes a difference, to my surprise) for twenty, which very well compensated me for the entry, but unless I win a lottery or something and can buy one of the real things I doubt I’ll go there again next year.

One fun thing though was the museum guards (the show was at the museum for Hamburg’s history) shivering with all the rocker type of guys coming in - stereotypes can be so amusing…

…that’s the question. I think I’m gonna blog - maybe people expect me to make this a serious artist page without any personal bla, or whatever, but I don’t care, I like blogging.
