Top producers give advice to songwriters

Sad news: the ingenious german composer and godfather of electronic music, Karl-Heinz Stockhausen, died at the age of 79 yesterday.

Stockhausen, who studied music, philosophy, communication sciences and german literature, was one of the most important pioneers of electronic and serial music. Though often ridiculed by blimbish and conservative babbits from the university establishment for his eccentric manners, this guy was for sure more important for the development of contempary music than most of the nerds coming from the conservatories these days.

Rest in piece Karl-Heinz, I hope you enjoy your trip back to sirius!

A quick recommendation: here’s an excellent release on Kreislauf, the album “Hinter der Wahrheit” by Radarfilm. This label colleague is a very interesting tightrope walk between Ambient, IDM and Minimal and well worth a listen, so go download it.
